Days5, 7, 9
Day 1

Jaen -Cocachimba- Gocta

We gather at the airport of the city of Jaen where we pick you up and take a private transfer to the community of Cocachimba. Our trip will take us 3 hours during which we will cross valleys and travel along the river Utcubamba , witnessing the majestic scenery of the north of Peru. Upon reaching our destination we will have lunch and hit the trail. On our 6 kilometer hike to the Gocta waterfall we will explore the blazed trail lying through the cloud forest stretching wide, covered with orchids and bromeliads. We delight in the virginal beauty that surrounds one of the highest waterfalls in the world. If you’re into birdwatching, you will be excited to get to see the national bird of Peru, Andean cock-of-the-sock. After we return to the community of Cocachimba where we will enjoy our dinner and spend the night.

Day 2

After breakfast at 8:00 am, we start our journey to Cocachimba community passing stunning sceneries of the Utcubamba valley. We will climb to the caves of Quiocta, 2700 meters above sea level.  After a short 10-minute walk to the caverns, we shall explore the untouched caves for an hour, where you will be able to appreciate the most impressive collection of stalagmite and stalactite sculptures. The site will allow you to take a peek into the past at pre-Hispanic burial practices and shed light on the views of afterlife of the Cloud Warriors culture. After this humble adventure we will travel to the city of Lamud for lunch.

At 1:00 pm we begin our one-hour bus trip to the Andean community of Cruz Pata, located at an altitude of 3000 meters. There we leave our bus and after a leisurely and picturesque one kilometer walk we will reach the unique pre-Inca tombs of Karajía. After our visit to this valuable archaeological site we will drive to the city of Chachapoyas.

Day 3

Chachapoyas - Kuelap

At 8:00 am we will begin our 72 kilometer journey to the Utcubamba canyon. After an hour of driving we will make a stop at the Utcubamba valley to appreciate the pre-Inca Macro archaeological site. After, we will ascent to the Andean community of Mary to prearrange our lunch. We will then continue our ride and after 30 minutes will arrive at the tourist center of Malca. From there it will take us only 25 minutes to get to the fortified citadel of Kuelap, where we will spend 3 hours accompanied by professionally guide. After the tour we will descend to the community of Maria for lunch and return to the city of Chachapoyas.
Day 4

Chachapoyas -Jaen

At 7:00 am we set off for our journey back to the city of Jaen. On our return trip we will visit the medicinal waters of Chachamaya. Afterwards we provide you with a transfer to the airport.
